Privacy Policy — Unstill

Nothing is collected

Unstill collects no personal information of any kind. There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking across apps or websites. The app has no servers, and it sends nothing anywhere.

Your videos stay on your device

Everything Unstill does with a video happens on your iPhone. The video is read, converted into a Live Photo, and written back to your photo library. It is never uploaded, transmitted, or stored anywhere outside the device.

Photo library access

Unstill asks for one thing: permission to add to your photo library, so it can save the Live Photo it makes. It does not ask for permission to read your library, and iOS will tell you so when the prompt appears.

Choosing a video goes through Apple's own system picker, which runs outside the app. Unstill receives only the one video you select, and iOS says as much on the picker itself: “Your photo library is shown here, but Unstill can only access the items you select.”

What is stored on your device

Unstill keeps its own copy of each Live Photo it makes, so the Recents list can reopen one without converting it again. These copies live in the app's private storage and are removed when you delete the app. Alongside them the app stores a few settings — whether you have seen the introduction, and when a wallpaper was last saved, which it uses to decide when to ask you for a review. None of this leaves the device.

What is not requested

Unstill does not request your location, contacts, microphone, camera, calendar, or health data. It contains no third-party SDKs of any kind, and no in-app purchases.

Children

Unstill is rated 4+ and is suitable for all ages. It collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
