Data stays in the app

Pacebit has no account, advertising, third-party analytics or cross-app tracking. Byflare Technologies does not collect or receive your browsing traffic or usage records through Pacebit. We do not sell, use for advertising, or disclose your traffic or usage records to third parties.

Local connection processing

When you turn on connection control, iOS sends eligible traffic through Pacebit’s on-device packet tunnel and forwarding engine to the original destination. This processing allows aggregate byte measurement and the caps you choose. There is no Byflare VPN server. Pacebit does not install interception certificates, decrypt HTTPS content or bypass the original app’s certificate validation.

Website lookups and checks

Website lookups use your current network’s DNS servers when available. If no DNS server is available during setup, Pacebit uses Cloudflare DNS. These resolvers and the websites you contact receive the requests necessary to provide their services. The optional Connection report website check requests example.com only when you tap Check. Opening this website, a support link, or sending an email also contacts the relevant service.

What is stored

Pacebit stores chosen speed caps, daily allowance and alert settings, any plan balance you enter, and aggregate traffic counts in local app storage. The app, tunnel and widgets share settings and counts using an iOS App Group. Daily measurements are retained as up to seven daily summaries; session totals reset when connection control restarts. The chart inside the app uses foreground measurements. Pacebit does not store a browsing log, per-app activity log, destination IP list or packet contents. iOS manages the device’s storage and backup settings.

Permissions and your choices

VPN permission enables local connection processing; stopping connection control stops traffic measurement and pacing. Notification permission is optional and is used for the reminders you enable. Mobile IPv6 fallback is off by default. If enabled, it can use cellular data where Wi-Fi lacks IPv6, including when another app requests Wi-Fi only. You can change these options in Pacebit and revoke notification permission in iPhone Settings. Deleting the app removes its local app data; any device backups are managed by iOS.

Support and shared reports

If you email support, we receive the email address and information you choose to send so we can respond. Connection reports are shared only when you use the share action. They omit browsing destinations, IP addresses and packet contents. Avoid sending sensitive personal information or browsing history.
