How do I start?

Open Connection and tap Start. Read the local data-use explanation and approve the iOS VPN configuration. Active means the connection engine is running. Choose Save data to use your caps, or Normal to remove manual caps.

Why does iOS call it a VPN?

Pacebit uses iOS VPN technology to measure and pace eligible traffic on your iPhone. Traffic is forwarded to its original destination. It is connection control, not an anonymity or location-changing service.

Do speed changes apply immediately?

Yes. The download and upload sliders apply changes to the active connection without an Apply button. Pacebit confirms the engine’s settings. If an update fails, it shows a message rather than claiming the new cap is active. No cap removes pacing in that direction.

What happens after my daily allowance?

The allowance is a measured usage goal. Optional reminders are sent at 80% and 100%, subject to iOS notification delivery. If you enable a slowdown, Pacebit applies its caps after the allowance. It keeps internet access on. You can pause the slowdown until the next daily reset. A daily slowdown can remain active even in Normal mode.

Why is usage different from my carrier?

Pacebit measures traffic that passes through its tunnel, including network overhead. The carrier may count differently, and some traffic bypasses the tunnel. It is not a carrier balance or an app-by-app breakdown. Any carrier balance you enter is manual and separate from measurements.

The internet stopped working. What should I do?

Tap Stop in Pacebit to restore the normal network path, then check the same website. If you cannot reach Pacebit, disconnect its VPN configuration in iPhone Settings. Restart connection control once the normal connection works. If it repeats, open Settings → Connection report in Pacebit, run the optional website check, and share the redacted report with support. Do not install certificates or disable HTTPS security.

Can I use another VPN at the same time?

Another packet-tunnel VPN can conflict with Pacebit. Disconnect it before starting Pacebit. If your work or school requires a VPN, follow its network policy and use Pacebit only when that connection is not needed.

What is mobile-data fallback?

It is an optional way to carry IPv6 connections over cellular when Wi-Fi lacks IPv6. It is off by default because it can use mobile data even when an individual app requests Wi-Fi only. Pacebit does not identify exact cellular bytes separately.

Why does the widget not update every second?

The widget shows a measured session total and its measurement time. Pacebit requests an approximately 15-minute refresh, but iOS chooses when widgets update. Open Pacebit for live rates. Home Screen buttons can start or stop after the initial VPN setup in the app.

Which devices are supported?

Pacebit requires iOS 17 or later. Interactive Home Screen widgets use iOS 17 or later; Control Center controls require iOS 18 or later. The first release interface is in English.
